Anna goes for the title!

Anna had a very special reason for getting up early the next day, so she set the alarm for 5 am. Tomorrow she takes part in the British Championships tennis. She will stay a whole week if she makes it to the final. If she wins the title she may take part in the European Championships from 2010 in Ahoy Rotterdam, Holland.

Anna lives in London and she has to go to Glasgow, Scotland for the tournament. So when she woke up, she immediately went downstairs and took breakfast. When she was ready she went with her mum and dad to the train station. The train was exactly on time and at 10 am she arrived in Glasgow. At 7 pm she has to play her first match. We all hope she will win the title and when she makes it to the European Championships we will abreast you.

  1. Hi Sjoerd,

First of all: I think you have succeeded in creating some tension in the story. Grammarwise you have fallen for the same pitfall as Bob. You change tense the moment you start adding sentences of your own. Instead of "Tomorrow she takes...", you should have said: "Tomorrow she would take..."
This mistake is frequently made, so we should pay attention to it in class.
